We visited Tenerife last year and I must say, it made a difference having the freedom of a car, we hired one for two weeks and saw so much more, we saved quite a bit of time and convenience getting here and moving on. We really had a great time there, we are thinking of coming back.

My experience of visiting Tenerife was from the point of view of renting a self catering apartment which worked out really well since we had a large family and preferred the privacy. It was nice to be in the suburbs among the locals and not be among throngs of tourists. It’s the first time we tried this out, found the place online.

Recently we holidayed in Canary Islands and tried out the self catering option, it worked out much better than a hotel, more comfortable but you do need a rental car to get around, we were miles from public transport. Otherwise no complaints, it’s a more cost effective option if you’re a family.
